Sparkling Eyes Recipe

To create sparkling eyes in PSE 4.0 for Mac, follow this simple recipe:

Go to file>open your picture

Get your lasso tool on the left and mark it around the eyes

You want to lasso a little more than the eyes…you can erase what you don’t need later

Command + j (This will duplicate the layer so you can work on the eyes)

Go to filter>sharpen>unsharp mask and “unsharped mask” screen will pop up

Go to the bottom left of the picture on this screen and click and drag it to the top right corner and click OK
(This will show the eyes you used the lasso tool to get)

Command + f (you will notice the eyes sparkle)

Click on the eyeball in the eyes layer in the layer palette and grab the eraser tool

Move your eraser around the eye iris (including eyelashes and the skin around the eyes) and leave the iris and pupil sparkling

Click on the eyeball in the eyes layer in the layer palette

Change opacity in the layers palette - I use about 50%, but you can play with it to get what you want.

You are done and it was “A Piece of Cake!” Look at the eyes now!
